Welcome to the Department of Political Science
at the University of New Orleans

The Department of Political Science at the University of New Orleans offers a wide range of graduate and undergraduate courses leading to the B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. degrees.

At UNO you can pursue an undergraduate degree in Political Science with an emphasis on International Relations, Comparative Politics, American Politics, or Pre-Law, or you can combine all of these areas in your curriculum. View our Undergraduate Program for more details.

At the graduate level you may select a general Master's degree with a broad mix of graduate seminars, or you may specialize in International Relations or American Politics by selecting certain courses. At the Ph.D. level the department offers eight fields of specialization, of which you select three. For more details select Graduate Program.

Graduates from the Department of Political Science at the University of New Orleans have entered a wide range of fields including the law, federal government service, state and local government, business, interest groups, journalism, and pre-collegiate and collegiate education.
